Fantasy readers don’t just follow characters—they step into worlds. Strong worldbuilding is what makes a fantasy story feel immersive, believable, and unforgettable. From magic systems and political structures to geography, culture, language, and history, every detail works together to create a world that feels alive on the page. With more than 10 years of publishing experience and eight years running an independent publishing imprint, I’ve worked closely with authors developing complex fictional worlds across a range of genres. My experience working with both independent publishing and traditional publishers, including Charlesbridge and Sourcebooks, has given me insight into what makes stories not only compelling, but structurally sound and market-ready.
